This public artwork, installed on Lake Tuggeranong’s foreshore in 2008, was designed by artist Phil Price.
This 10-metre tall sculpture was immediately met with some controversy and perhaps bemusement, due to its dominant features on the local landscape, including its large ‘wings’, which twist and turn with the wind.
According to the artist, the sculpture is celebrates being alive: ‘It brings together the enjoyment of being outside in the environment, movement and colour – all the simple things’. (Source: artsACT)
